2012 – - What’s Next?
The unofficial plans for 2012 are starting to unfold. Over a few beer, some laughs and casual conversations we have started to plan for 2012.
Join us again in May of 2012 for the unveiling.
Thanks from Snowman, Delta, Pauly and Mickey
Next year Scotty Doo, Clarence and Roger will hopefully be along for the ride.
Be safe and watch out for Motorcycles, we are everywhere!

Tit for Tat
So Delta had a flat tire on the way to Lake Placid and we used CAA to get a tow. Then while getting Mickeys Tour outfitted for new sneakers, Delta had to take a picture just to show 2 wings on something other than the road.

Home at Last
Hi Folks;
The 2011 Wild Hogs ride is over, and since we didn’t have any connectivity the last 4 days some of the excitement was not conveyed.
We are getting together Tuesday and will post the last article for 2011 as well as picts.
Thanks to family and friends who followed us this year.
Day 5 – 6 Lake George
Days 5-6
Sorry to combine the last few days, but to say that it has been an adventure, is an understatement. We cruised a lot of the back roads and had great rides. We went to the Harley Factory for a tour in Troy, Penn, and found out how, with a swift kick from one of the line workers the bikes are built. We drove up the 30 for most of the day and ended up in a “questionable” hotel, at 65 dollars a night. Snowman had the first Emergency of the trip when he locked his handlebars and the key popped out half way. Mickey to the rescue, and with some fine metal work, the lock finally worked and Snowman was not going to be left at the Hotel from Hell. The attached diner, we had breakfast and Snowman had ham and eggs. You know the thinly sliced “sunrise ham”? Snowman’s ham was thinner and just as tasteless. This place qualified as a DIVE.
More twisties and we ended up in Lake George a day early.
On the route 9 to Lake Placid, we stopped and took a break, where Mickey read an email from one of our students, and co-worker, saying “glad to hear there were no Delta moments”. Not an hour later, the front valve stem on his front tire went and it was time to alter plans. At first panic moment, Delta was going to take off his front wheel and get us to take it to Lake George to get repaired and then bring it back. Then Mickey strongly suggested to call CAA, and 20 minutes later a flatbed showed up and Delta was on his way to get the tire stem replaced.
We are now in a nice cabin for the next 3 days and will be doing some touring. Once we get to a wifi area, I’ll upload some pictures. Stay tuned…more to come tomorrow.
Day 4 – Scranton PA
The day started out with the goal of making our way to OCC. Orange County Choppers. We hit North Canaan, CT and had lunch at Collins Diner.
Visited by Presidents and the Hogs, the staff at this place were firecrackers. Grandma, Falalala, and the cook kept us in stitches and played along with our antics. Delta lead the way again. Frankly he can get us where we need to go, but once we get to our destination, he screws up and misses the turn offs. Picture this, Delta leading pack, OCC’s BIG Shop is on the left and he blasts right by. The GPS has a voice for a reason, but out map reading expert was to busy looking at the gps and not the surroundings. LOL.
We experienced some greate roads and since this trip is all about the rides, we hit alot of twisties and great rides. The weather also started to warm up so we did not mind riding.
At OCC we got to see most of the bikes they made on the show, including the Fire Bike and the reindeer bike.
Enjoy the picts in this gallery
Day 3 Brattleboro, VT
Again Delta led the way today and we got some great riding in. We did the Kangamangus trail
, route 3 and a few routes through Laconia, passed the NASCAR speedway in Louden, and took in a lot of twisties.
For today, I will have to say a picture is worth a thousand words, so here are a couple of them.
According to Pauly, Apu, from the Simpsons, ran the hotel were in, and Delta and I had bets on how many relatives were in the hotel house. 30 was our guess. Delta also had to show us how he gets ready for a run.
Day 2 – North Conway
Day 2 – The hogs enjoyed a continental Breakfast in Bangor and then headed off to North Conway. We made a pit stop to White Horse Gear and had Donna laughing so hard she was crying. Delta trying to find boots, Mickey trying to get riding pants for his daughter, Pauly sizing him self up for a new pair of pants and a manual for his Harley. He claims he’ll never use it because it is such a reliable motorcycle. His words! Not ours.
The twisites were great and as we went through some of the White Mountains.
We found Beth’s Cafe for some pie and Delta was happy to get a cup of coffee. We then ended up at the Merrill Farm Resort. We stayed in a 2 story suite with Snowman and Pauly upstairs, delta and I downstairs. Needless to say Pauly was relieved to be in the hotel.
A good days ride, but temperatures were cool.
This years outing is mostly touring and we stayed off the Interstates as much as possible. It has to be mentioned that Delta led the way with no Delta moments for Day 2.
Day 3 coming up.
Day 1 – Halifax to Bangor
Day one started off for the Hogs in the “Normal” way. Fog and rain. Scotty, although discouraged he could not go on the trip this year did manage to see the Hogs off at the Canadiana.
He then suprised us all by buying breakfast. Scotty Doo…The Man. He saw us off, as a father would see his kids leaving the roost for the first time.
I’m not sure, but if you look at his picture, there may be a hint of a slight tear in his eye.
Off we go and cutting through the fog, things started to clear up on the other side of Folly Lake.
The rest of the ride was great, no rain, but lots of wind and temperatures that swung from 24 to 12 back to 17 degrees.
We made Bangor around 6 and headed off to a Red Knight friend of ours Chuck.
His garage made Snowman, Pauly, Delta and I weak in the knees. A true MAN LAND, and a great place to work on bikes, drink beer and listen to Blue Rodeo and the Barenaked Ladies. The musical group, not what you were thinking.
Delta, famous for the name, took Pauly on a tour of the 395 and Route 1A North, before getting a text from Mickey telling him the address on route 1A South.
After Chuck’s fabulous hospitality, some great stories and laughs, we headed back to the hotel in Bangor for the night.
Clearing skies are forecast for Day 2. We’ll let you know.
